Dr. Ware selected to receive President's Award of the International Society for Quality of Life Research (ISQOL)
Lincoln, RI. - September 3, 2003 – The International Society for Quality of Life Research (ISOQOL) has selected John E. Ware, Jr., PhD, QualityMetric CEO and Chief Science Officer and Executive Director of the Health Assessment Lab (HAL), to receive the 2003 President's Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to advancement of the quality of life field. ISOQOL’s letter of selection from President Mirjam Sprangers, PhD, noted that Dr. Ware’s “pioneering and tireless work in advancing the assessment of quality of life continues to be inspirational.” The award will be presented to Dr. Ware on November 15, 2003 at the closing ceremony of ISOQOL’s 10th Annual Conference in Prague, Czech Republic.
ISOQOL promotes the rigorous investigation of health-related quality of life measurement from conceptualization to application and practice and fosters the worldwide exchange of information. The ISOQOL President’s Award is a new tradition that began in 2001 and is given annually to an individual or group that has advanced quality of life research and has made outstanding contributions to ISOQOL in one or more of the following areas:
