ISOQOL promotes the rigorous investigation of health-related quality of life measurement from conceptualization to application and practice and fosters the worldwide exchange of information. The ISOQOL President’s Award is a new tradition that began in 2001 and is given annually to an individual or group that has advanced quality of life research and has made outstanding contributions to ISOQOL in one or more of the following areas:

• The education of professionals, patients or lay individuals about health-related quality of life’s value
• The promotion or execution of health-related quality of life or other scholarly activities
• Facilitating or furthering policy initiatives that have an impact on health-related quality of life.
